Xiaomi Unveils YU7 SUV, Challenges Tesla Model Y

Xiaomi has launched its second electric vehicle, the YU7 SUV, positioning it as a direct competitor to Tesla's Model Y in China. The YU7 offers up to 835 km of range, high-performance acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.23 seconds, and 800-volt rapid charging that can add 620 km in 15 minutes. Key features include a panoramic 'hypervision' display, smart door handles, a luxury interior with Nappa leather, and massage seats. Pricing has not yet been announced, but Xiaomi signals it will be competitive or slightly lower than the Model Y. The YU7 follows the success of Xiaomi's first EV, the SU7 sedan, which has already outsold the Tesla Model 3 in China. Analysts, including Morgan Stanley, view the YU7 as a growing global threat to Tesla due to its innovation and affordability.
