IDF Foils Weapons Smuggling on Multiple Fronts

Israeli forces this week foiled multiple weapons-smuggling attempts along both the northern and southern frontiers, detaining suspects and confiscating grenades, handguns, anti‑tank rockets, RPGs and ammunition. In the Mount Hermon area, troops from the IDF’s 810th “Mountains” Brigade and Intelligence Directorate Unit 504 detained several people attempting to move arms from Syria into Lebanon. The IDF, including the 91st Division, says it operates posts inside southern Syria and conducts operations up to about 15 kilometers into Syrian territory to prevent weapons from reaching hostile forces such as Hezbollah. Separately, forces in the Paran Brigade area and along the Egyptian border intercepted and downed multiple drones that crossed into Israel carrying assault rifles, magazines and ammunition. Seized weapons and the drones were turned over to security services for processing as the military vowed continued offensive action, large-scale exercises and sustained deterrence measures.
