Wink Martindale Dies at 91
Wink Martindale, legendary game show host and radio personality, died at age 91 in Rancho Mirage, California, surrounded by his family and wife of 49 years, Sandra Martindale. Martindale began his broadcasting career as a radio DJ at age 17 and became a household name hosting iconic TV game shows such as 'Tic-Tac-Dough,' 'Gambit,' and 'High Rollers.' He played a key role in rock history by introducing Elvis Presley in one of the singer's first radio interviews. Over his 74-year career, Martindale hosted or produced more than 20 game shows, made significant contributions to radio and television, and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. No official cause of death has been released, though some sources cite lymphoma. He is survived by his wife Sandra, sister Geraldine, daughters Lisa, Lyn, and Laura, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
