U.S. U-17 Team Sets Record 22-0 Win vs Virgin Islands

The United States Under-17 men's national team achieved a historic 22-0 victory over the U.S. Virgin Islands in their opening match of the expanded CONCACAF qualifying for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup. This record-setting win marks the highest goal tally ever for a U.S. team at any level during World Cup qualifying, highlighted by Chase Adams scoring ten goals, a new record for an individual player in such matches. Captain Maximo Carrizo added four goals, while Chance Cowell and Jude Terry each contributed two goals to the onslaught. The previous men's record was a 13-0 victory against the same opponent in 2018, and the U.S. also surpassed its prior overall record of 20-0 from the 2022 CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Championship. The U.S. aims to secure a spot in the expanded 48-nation World Cup set for November in Qatar. The team continues qualifying with their next match against St. Kitts and Nevis on February 12.
