DUI Checkpoints and Patrols Increase Across U.S.

Several law enforcement agencies across the United States are increasing efforts to curb impaired driving through DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols. Long Beach, CA, and Worcester, MA, will have upcoming checkpoints aimed at enhancing road safety by targeting impaired drivers. Recent operations in Wildomar and Lake Elsinore, CA, resulted in numerous arrests and citations for DUI and other driving offenses. In North Dakota, checkpoints and follow-up patrols led to seven DUI arrests and multiple other violations. Similarly, a checkpoint in Lake City, FL, during the Labor Day weekend campaign resulted in five arrests and several citations, emphasizing the preventative and educational goals of such operations.
