Coastal Carolina Beats Arizona in CWS Rematch
Coastal Carolina opened the 2025 Men's College World Series with a 7-4 victory over Arizona, extending their win streak to 24 games. The Chanticleers broke a 4-4 tie in the eighth inning with a go-ahead single from Sebastian Alexander and a two-run double by Blake Barthol. Arizona had briefly led in the sixth after Mason White’s solo homer but could not maintain momentum. Coastal Carolina’s closer, Dominick Carbone, ended Arizona’s final rally in the ninth to secure the win. Coastal Carolina will next face the winner of Oregon State and Louisville, while Arizona moves to the losers' bracket. This game was a rematch of the 2016 College World Series finals, which Coastal Carolina also won.
