Multiple Motorcycle, E‑Bike Fatal Crashes Across U.S.
A string of fatal motorcycle and e‑bike crashes this week left riders dead across multiple states including New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Colorado, Arizona, California and New Hampshire. In Dutchess County, NY, a motorcyclist was killed at the intersection of Route 9G and North Creek Road in Clinton on Oct. 7; few details have been released as investigators notify next of kin. In Newark’s North Ward, a rider was ejected in a collision on Mount Prospect Avenue and was pronounced dead while the driver was not reported injured; authorities continue to investigate. Rhode Island State Police identified 26‑year‑old Cedrix Teixeira of Bridgewater, MA, who was ejected after his motorcycle struck a high‑speed barrier on Route 6 and fell about 60 feet, later dying at Rhode Island Hospital. Colorado Springs police identified 27‑year‑old Hung Pham as the rider killed on Centennial Boulevard on Sept. 18, saying excessive speed appears to be a factor, and another recent incident involved a rider who struck an attenuator in the I‑10 tunnel in Phoenix. Additional fatal crashes under investigation include a motorcyclist reportedly run off the road on the 57‑to‑91 transition in Anaheim, a motorcyclist killed in a multi‑vehicle crash on the Highway 101‑to‑126 transition in Ventura on Oct. 4, and an e‑bike rider killed on the Exit 14 offramp of I‑93 in Concord, NH, where another e‑bike rider was reported struck and taken to Concord Hospital.
