Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, and his wife, Bushra Bibi, have been sentenced to 14 years in prison and fined $1.5bn in the Toshakhana case. The conviction is related to the illegal selling of state gifts, with Khan retaining 58 out of 108 gifted assets for personal benefit. This sentence follows a recent conviction of Khan for disclosing state secrets. Khan has started a hunger strike in prison in response to the arrest of government officials.
