Students Transform Clinics, Schools with Community Murals Across Devon, South Africa

A mural created by students at IIE-Vega's Durban campus has transformed a metal container into a welcoming therapy space at the Sea Cow Lake Clinic, enhancing the community's occupational therapy services. The initiative, led by fourth-year OT student Savannah Prange, aimed to combine teamwork with community upliftment, allowing local children to participate in the mural painting. In Hartlepool, students from Hartlepool College of Further Education also contributed to their community by painting a tree mural at Alice House Hospice, creating a warm atmosphere for visitors. The hospice expressed gratitude for the students' efforts, highlighting the importance of community support in their ongoing operations. Meanwhile, a mural at Sherford Vale School in Devon celebrates nature and sustainability, designed by artist Ellie Johnson based on students' artwork. These projects showcase the impact of creativity and collaboration in various community settings.
