Renewable Energy Workshop Held at SMVDU

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) hosted a workshop on Renewable Energy for Carbon Neutrality, focusing on solar energy as a key solution to climate change. The event featured discussions led by experts like Prof. Jeyraj Selvaraj from the University of Malaya, emphasizing advancements in solar technologies and the importance of academia-industry partnerships for innovation. In California, California Resources Corp. (CRC) and Net Power signed an MOU to develop low-emission power plants, aiming for 1 gigawatt of capacity and the permanent sequestration of 3.6 million metric tons of CO emissions annually. This initiative aligns with California’s efforts to improve air quality and meet renewable energy goals. Additionally, Technip Energies is set to lead the construction of the Net Zero Teesside Power project in the UK, which aims to be the world's first gas-fired power station with carbon capture, supporting the UK's net zero emissions target by 2050. These efforts collectively highlight the global push towards renewable energy and carbon management solutions.
