Rising Surfer Kolby Aipa Dies in Huntington Beach E-Bike Crash

Kolby Aipa, a 20-year-old rising surfing star and grandson of legendary surfboard shaper Ben Aipa, tragically died after an e-bike accident in Huntington Beach, California. On the night of August 2, 2025, Kolby was holding onto a Toyota Tacoma driven by a friend on Pacific Coast Highway when he lost control and collided with the truck. He was transported unconscious to a hospital, where he died from his injuries a few days later. Police do not suspect impairment from the driver and continue to investigate the crash.
