Patti Scialfa Reveals Multiple Myeloma Diagnosis

Patti Scialfa, member of the E Street Band and wife of Bruce Springsteen, reveals her battle with multiple myeloma, a rare blood cancer, in the upcoming documentary 'Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band'. Diagnosed in 2018, Scialfa has had to scale back her performances due to health concerns, stating, 'Touring has become a challenge for me' and emphasizing the need to be careful about her activities. Despite this, she still enjoys performing occasionally, describing her current situation as her 'new normal'. The documentary, which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival, will be available on Hulu and Disney+ on October 25. Scialfa's condition has garnered support from fans, highlighting her resilience and contributions to the band since joining in 1984. Her health issues were also a factor in her absence from most of the band's recent tour, which continues through July 2025.
