Henry Cavill-Led Highlander Reboot Adds Djimon Hounsou

Amazon MGM Studios is producing a Highlander reboot directed by Chad Stahelski, featuring Henry Cavill as Connor MacLeod, the immortal Scottish Highlander, and Russell Crowe as Ramirez. The cast now includes Djimon Hounsou, who will play an immortal African warrior, joining other stars like Dave Bautista as the villainous Kurgan and Karen Gillan as Heather MacLeod. The film's storyline centers on immortal warriors battling across centuries, with the famous Highlander motto, 'there can be only one.' Principal photography is set to begin at the end of September, though the release date remains unannounced. Hounsou, known for roles in Guardians of the Galaxy, Shazam!, and Rebel Moon, brings significant genre experience to the project. This reboot is a passion project for Cavill, who has also been involved in other major fantasy and sci-fi adaptations.
