Amazon opens AWS Asia Pacific Hub in Singapore

Amazon has officially launched its new Amazon Web Services (AWS) Asia Pacific Hub in Singapore, marking a significant expansion of its operations in the region. The hub, located at IOI Central Boulevard, spans 360,000 square feet and can accommodate up to 3,000 employees, supporting over 100 teams. This initiative is part of AWS's commitment to invest an additional S$12 billion into its cloud infrastructure from 2024 to 2028, expected to contribute S$23.7 billion to Singapore's GDP and create approximately 12,300 full-time jobs annually. The new office will serve as a collaborative space for AWS customers and partners, facilitating workshops and networking opportunities. This marks Amazon's second corporate office in Singapore, reinforcing the city-state's status as a key technology hub in Southeast Asia. Jeff Johnson, AWS's Managing Director for ASEAN, emphasized the strategic importance of the hub for digital transformation across the region.
