FromSoftware Announces Elden Ring: Nightreign Spin-off

FromSoftware has announced 'Elden Ring: Nightreign,' a multiplayer spin-off set in the world of Elden Ring, slated for a 2025 release. Revealed at The Game Awards 2024, Nightreign is a co-op action survival game where players, termed 'Nightfarers,' must band together to overcome a relentless night that engulfs the Lands Between. It incorporates elements from the original Elden Ring, including some weapons and mechanics, but introduces new gameplay features like acrobatic moves and co-op gameplay, unlike the traditional role-playing format. The game is designed to be played in teams of up to three players, focusing on strategic use of unique character abilities to tackle formidable enemies. Despite previous claims that there were no plans for an Elden Ring sequel, FromSoftware aims to expand the franchise with this standalone game. A network test is expected before the official launch to ensure the co-op system's functionality.
