Frank Lampard Set to Join Coventry City

Frank Lampard is reportedly close to becoming the new manager of Coventry City following the dismissal of long-serving boss Mark Robins, who was let go after a disappointing start to the Championship season. Robins, who had a successful tenure leading the club from League Two to the brink of Premier League promotion, was sacked after only four wins in the opening 14 matches. Coventry owner Doug King is said to favor Lampard for the role despite initial speculation linking other candidates, including Matt Bloomfield from Wycombe Wanderers. Lampard has been out of management since his interim stint at Chelsea last season and could potentially take charge before Coventry's next game against Sheffield United. The decision to part ways with Robins has drawn criticism from Coventry legend Steve Ogrizovic, who believes it was a poor decision given the progress made under Robins.
