Wisconsin Poaching Suspects Arrested in Large Case

A 36-year-old woman and three 16-year-old boys from Campbellsport, Wisconsin, have been arrested for their involvement in a large-scale deer poaching and wildlife mistreatment operation. The group allegedly killed over 100 deer across a 200-square-mile area from late spring 2023 to July 2024, using spotlights at night and leaving most carcasses to rot. They removed heads from some bucks for antlers and targeted other wildlife, such as geese and raccoons. The investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources uncovered numerous violations, including hunting with artificial light and illegal possession of firearms. Videos and selfies with wounded animals further highlighted the cruelty of their actions. Authorities have referred the case to multiple district attorneys for prosecution.
