The Uttar Pradesh government has appointed Babita Chauhan as the chairperson of the UP Rajya Mahila Aayog, with Aparna Yadav and Charu Chaudhary named as vice-chairpersons. This decision was announced in an official notification by Principal Secretary Leena Johri. Aparna Yadav, who is the daughter-in-law of SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, previously joined the BJP in January 2022 after an unsuccessful electoral attempt in 2017. This appointment marks a significant responsibility for Aparna, who has not held a prominent role since joining the BJP. The formation of this commission includes a complete executive committee comprising 25 members, reflecting a broader representation from supporting parties. Babita Chauhan is noted for her background in social service and her involvement in the BJP's women's wing.
