Netflix's 'Monster' Series Features Ed Gein

Netflix's anthology series 'Monster' will feature the notorious serial killer Ed Gein in its third season, with Charlie Hunnam cast as the lead. Gein, known as the 'Butcher of Plainfield,' was infamous for murdering two women and stealing corpses from graves to create items from their remains, inspiring characters in horror films like 'Psycho' and 'The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.' He was declared mentally unfit for trial and spent his life in a psychiatric institution. The second season, titled 'Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,' is set to premiere on September 19, 2024, following the first season which focused on Jeffrey Dahmer. Ryan Murphy, the series co-creator, aims to continue exploring true crime narratives with this installment. Meanwhile, Anna Kendrick's directorial debut 'Woman of the Hour,' which tells the story of a woman who dates a serial killer, will also be released on Netflix on October 18.
