Grenade Attack in Srinagar Injures Nine Civilians

A grenade attack in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday injured at least nine civilians at a busy Sunday market near the Tourist Reception Centre (TRC). The attack, targeting Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, missed its intended target and instead hit a street vendor's cart, causing injuries among civilians. This incident follows the killing of a Lashkar-e-Taiba commander by security forces in the area a day earlier. The attack caused panic, prompting a swift response from police and paramilitary forces, who cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation. This marks the first grenade blast in Srinagar in over a year, with heightened security measures now in place. The injured individuals were promptly taken to a hospital where they are reported to be in stable condition.
