Seahawks Reportedly Discuss Reuniting with Former Pro Bowl CB Shaquill Griffin

The Seattle Seahawks are actively engaging in discussions to potentially reunite with free-agent cornerback Shaquill Griffin, who was originally drafted by the team in 2017 and earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2019. Griffin, now 29, has played for several teams since leaving Seattle but demonstrated continued effectiveness with the Minnesota Vikings in 2024, appearing in all 17 games and maintaining solid coverage statistics. The Seahawks view Griffin as a valuable addition to provide veteran depth at boundary cornerback, a position where their current depth is thin despite having strong starters like Devon Witherspoon and Riq Woolen. The team did not address cornerback in the 2025 draft and currently lacks a proven backup to challenge for the third cornerback spot.
