Hamilton County Deputy Larry Henderson Killed in Traffic Incident

Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy Larry Henderson, a retired officer with 33 years of service, was killed while directing traffic during the University of Cincinnati's graduation ceremony after being struck by a vehicle driven by Rodney Hinton Jr. Authorities say Hinton Jr. is the father of a man fatally shot by Cincinnati police the previous day and has been charged with aggravated murder in connection to the deputy's death. Henderson was widely recognized for his commitment to the community and his role as an influential trainer within the sheriff's office, having impacted hundreds of officers. In tribute, his badge number, 129, will be retired, and Governor Mike DeWine has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff throughout Hamilton County and at state buildings.
