Passenger Killed in Coosa County Crash
A tragic accident in Coosa County resulted in the death of 63-year-old Janice W. Bullard when the car she was riding in struck a horse standing on U.S. 231. The collision occurred around 11:40 p.m., causing the vehicle to veer off the road and hit a large rock. Bullard was not wearing a seat belt at the time and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 47-year-old Angela M. Lackey, and another passenger, 67-year-old Nina S. Lackey, sustained injuries and were transported to UAB Hospital for treatment. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is currently investigating the incident. The crash highlights ongoing concerns regarding road safety and animal presence on highways.
