Valanciunas Joins Nuggets as Backup Point Center

Jonas Valanciunas has been officially traded from the Sacramento Kings to the Denver Nuggets, despite strong interest from Greek EuroLeague club Panathinaikos. After initial uncertainty about his intentions, Valanciunas is now expected to honor his two-year NBA contract and join the Nuggets for the upcoming season. Nuggets coach David Adelman plans to utilize Valanciunas in a 'point center' backup role to Nikola Jokic, aiming to diversify Denver’s offensive options. Last season, Valanciunas averaged around 10 points and 7 rebounds per game, bringing experience and depth to the frontcourt. There is speculation that the Hornets could be a future trade partner if Denver seeks more flexibility, although no deal is imminent.
