Teen Charged in Havre de Grace Student Murder
Jai'den Alexander Winchester, a 14-year-old student and football player at Havre de Grace High School, was fatally shot in Aberdeen, Maryland. The incident occurred just before midnight on November 2, in the 200 block of Center Deen Avenue, where Winchester was found with a gunshot wound to the head and later pronounced dead at the scene. A 16-year-old student, also from Havre de Grace High School, has been arrested and charged as an adult with first and second-degree murder, among other charges. Police have ruled out the possibility of the shooting being accidental, classifying it as a homicide. The tragic event has deeply impacted the school community, with support teams in place to help students and staff cope. This incident marks the second case of gun violence against students in Harford County Public Schools this academic year.
