Islamic Arts Biennale Opens in Jeddah, Showcases Global Islamic Art

The second edition of the Islamic Arts Biennale in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, has opened, showcasing a blend of historical Islamic artifacts and contemporary artworks. Titled 'And All That Is In Between,' this biennale is the first dedicated exclusively to Islamic arts and features over 500 objects from more than 30 leading institutions worldwide, including the Louvre and the Vatican. The event spans 100,000 square meters and highlights the Kiswah, the cloth that covers the Holy Kaaba, in a historic first display outside Makkah. The Biennale emphasizes the ongoing relevance of tradition through a global lens, with contributions from artists across the Gulf and beyond. It aims to foster reflection and dialogue about Islamic culture through various exhibits, workshops, and community initiatives. The event runs until May 25, providing an exceptional opportunity for cultural engagement.
