Porsche Unveils Most Powerful Hybrid 911 Turbo S

Porsche has unveiled the 2026 911 Turbo S, the most powerful production 911 ever, featuring innovative T-Hybrid technology with two electric turbochargers that boost output to 701 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. This hybrid powertrain marks a significant performance leap, enabling the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.4 seconds and achieve a Nürburgring lap time of 7:03.92, which is 14 seconds faster than its predecessor. Despite the addition of hybrid components increasing the car's weight by 180 pounds, Porsche emphasizes improved agility, grip, and overall speed. The 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine is paired with a 1.9 kWh battery and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, delivering power to all four wheels via Porsche Traction Management. The new Turbo S also features enhanced aerodynamics, optimized chassis, carbon-ceramic brakes, and wider rear tires, maintaining practical usability while pushing the performance envelope. Prices start at $272,650 for the coupe and $286,650 for the cabriolet, with availability expected in spring 2025.
