The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a list of 40 star campaigners for the second phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, scheduled for September 25. Prominent figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh are included, alongside other Union ministers and state leaders. Amit Shah will unveil the party's election manifesto on September 6, prior to engaging with the BJP's core group to strategize for the elections. This election marks the first assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir since its reorganization into a Union Territory following the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. The elections will occur in three phases, with the first phase on September 18 and results to be announced on October 8. Meanwhile, the Indian National Congress has also released its own list of 40 star campaigners, featuring leaders such as Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, in preparation for the same elections.
