Hemet Man Sentenced for Child Pornography Involving Minors

John Matthew Piecuch, a 65-year-old Hemet man, was sentenced to 15 years and eight months in federal prison for producing child pornography involving a 12-year-old girl and her 5-year-old relative, whom he manipulated into sending explicit images. Piecuch pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography and has been in custody since August 2021. The sentencing by U.S. District Judge John W. Holcomb considered a plea deal and Piecuch's expressed remorse and difficult childhood. Despite the sentencing guidelines suggesting a longer term, the plea deal was honored due to these factors. Piecuch apologized for his actions, acknowledging the gravity of his crimes, and his attorney highlighted his troubled upbringing. Additionally, Piecuch will be required to register as a sex offender and be on supervised release after serving his sentence.
