Oil Spill in Bayou Lafourche Under Control

A crude oil spill occurred early Saturday in Bayou Lafourche, Raceland, originating from the Crescent Midstream Crude Oil Facility. Emergency personnel have deployed containment booms and are actively working to manage the spill, which does not currently pose a risk to the drinking water supply for nearby communities. The spill has led to a temporary closure of portions of the bayou to boat traffic. Nearly a hundred responders are engaged in the cleanup effort, and officials have secured the source of the leak.
