Kyndryl Opens ASEAN AI Innovation Lab In Singapore Employing 50 Specialists

Kyndryl has launched its ASEAN AI Innovation Lab in Singapore to accelerate responsible AI adoption and address the talent readiness gap across Southeast Asia by employing about 50 local AI specialists including data scientists and engineers. The Lab will offer customized enterprise AI solutions with advanced security features and will work closely with partners such as Google Cloud and Digital Industry Singapore (DISG) to help Singapore-based companies and regional businesses operationalize AI while meeting regulatory and security demands. This initiative aligns with Singapore’s National AI Strategy 2.0 and aims to foster collaboration between industry, academia, and government to build a future-ready AI-skilled workforce. Kyndryl’s Managing Director for ASEAN and Korea, Andrew Lim, emphasized the company’s commitment to scaling trustworthy AI solutions with responsible AI principles at the core. The Lab also supports efforts to triple the number of AI professionals in Singapore by 2028 and is part of a broader program to help local businesses scale up AI and cloud technology adoption under the Enterprise Compute Initiative. Overall, the lab will serve as a collaborative space for innovation, talent development, and responsible AI practices, addressing key issues such as data privacy, governance, and energy efficiency in the region.
