Orinda Road Rage Shooting Leaves One Dead

Scott Decker, a 50-year-old Orinda resident, was fatally shot in a road rage incident involving a 72-year-old Tesla driver on Thursday morning. The confrontation occurred near Las Vegas Road and La Espiral when Decker allegedly exited his vehicle and punched the Tesla driver, who then shot him in self-defense. Despite life-saving efforts by officers and emergency crews, Decker died at the scene. The Tesla driver, who lives nearby, called the police and was detained but not arrested. This rare homicide has shocked the affluent community, which typically does not experience such violent incidents.
