Jake Reeves Pleads Guilty to Aggravated Arson
Jake Reeves, 23, from Croydon, has pleaded guilty to aggravated arson related to a fire at a Ukraine-linked warehouse in Leyton, East London, requiring 60 firefighters to extinguish. He also admitted to receiving payment from a foreign intelligence agency, marking one of the first cases under the UK's new National Security Act. Another defendant, Dylan Earl, 20, has also pleaded guilty to similar charges, with prosecutors alleging his involvement on behalf of the Russian mercenary group Wagner. Several other individuals, including Paul English, Nii Kojo Mensah, and Jakeem Barrington Rose, have been charged in connection with the incident, with varying pleas regarding the arson charges. The prosecution is set to pursue a trial against Rose, who denied aggravated arson but admitted to a lesser charge. Sentencing for Reeves and Earl is yet to be scheduled.
