Pogba tested positive for testosterone in September 2023, receiving an initial four-year ban that was later reduced to 18 months following an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which noted the banned substance DHEA only affects female athletes. Eligible to play since March 2025, Pogba has been training ahead of pre-season and has expressed renewed motivation to revive his career. Monaco, who finished third in Ligue 1 and qualified for the Champions League, have offered a two-year contract and talks have intensified recently.
