Microsoft Expands Cloud Gaming with Activision Titles

Microsoft is making significant strides in expanding the Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming services. With the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on October 25, 2024, as a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming, Microsoft is leveraging its acquisition of Activision Blizzard to attract more subscribers. This marks the first time a Call of Duty game will be available on cloud gaming at launch, allowing Game Pass Ultimate members to play on various devices without needing a console. In addition to Black Ops 6, Microsoft announced plans to test cloud gaming for owned Xbox games in November, expanding beyond the curated Game Pass library to potentially thousands of titles. This move aligns with Microsoft's strategy to make gaming more accessible by enabling streaming on diverse platforms, while tackling technical and licensing challenges.
