Third Suspect Arrested in Deadly Las Cruces Park Shooting

Las Cruces Police have arrested a third suspect, a 17-year-old boy, in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred at Young Park during an unauthorized car show on March 21. The suspects, which include another 17-year-old and 20-year-old Tomas Rivas, are facing open counts of murder, with Rivas held without bond in the Doña Ana County Detention Center. The victims have been identified as Andrew Madrid, 16; Jason Gomez, 18; and Dominick Estrada, 19, with 15 others injured in the incident. The shooting was sparked by a fight between two groups, escalating into gunfire. Law enforcement continues to investigate with support from multiple agencies, including the FBI and ATF. The medical conditions of the injured victims remain undisclosed as the investigation is ongoing.
