Police Lieutenant Critically Injured in Turner Collision

Monmouth Police Lieutenant Dana Wessling was critically injured in a head-on collision in Turner, Maine, when a pickup truck crossed the centerline and struck his vehicle. The crash occurred shortly after Wessling picked up his 7-year-old son from daycare, though the child was unharmed. The pickup truck, driven by Sean McNeil, also left McNeil and his passenger with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Wessling, who had to be extricated from his vehicle, was airlifted to Maine Medical Center where his condition has stabilized, and he is expected to recover.
