Zelda Williams Condemns AI Videos of Robin Williams

Williams called the recreations a “waste of time and energy” and rejected uncritical claims that AI is simply “the future.” Her warning echoes criticisms she raised during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA disputes and highlights broader industry concerns about consent, compensation and the use of deepfakes to revive deceased performers. The plea adds to ongoing debates in Hollywood and online over whether and how AI-generated likenesses of real people should be permitted or policed.
