Louisville Extends AD Josh Heird's Contract

Josh Heird, the athletic director at the University of Louisville, has had his contract extended through 2030 following a vote by the University of Louisville Athletic Association's Board of Directors, pending approval from the university's Board of Trustees on Thursday. Heird, who became the permanent athletic director in June 2022 after serving as interim from December 2021, has overseen significant developments, including key hires like Jeff Brohm for football and Pat Kelsey for basketball. Under his leadership, the university's athletic programs have achieved notable successes, including a high graduation rate and perfect APR scores. UofL President Kim Schatzel has expressed strong confidence in Heird's leadership, citing his positive impact on the department. Previously, Heird worked at Villanova University and held various roles under former UofL AD Tom Jurich.
