A wild elephant trampled four people to death in Chhattisgarh’s Jashpur district, including three family members, on Friday night. The victims were identified as Ramkeshwar Soni, his daughter Ravita, his brother Ajay, and their neighbor Ashwin Kujur. This incident follows another fatal elephant attack in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district a day earlier. The elephant responsible for the Jashpur attack had been moving aggressively through multiple areas, prompting forest teams to track it for safety reasons. In the past month, elephant attacks have claimed nine lives in Jashpur alone. Additionally, a 49-year-old anti-poaching watcher died while fleeing from an elephant in the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu on Friday, suspected to have suffered a cardiac arrest during the escape.
