Times Square Vendor Shot; Safety Concerns Raised
Ayaman Gzale, a food vendor in Times Square, was shot in the right arm early Wednesday morning following an argument with a group of young people near 47th Street and Seventh Avenue. The altercation escalated when one group member fired multiple shots as the group moved toward a nearby subway station. Gzale was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is expected to recover. Police quickly apprehended three suspects in the subway and are questioning them, with one believed to be the shooter, though no charges have been filed yet. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. The incident, which took place in a heavily trafficked gun-free zone, has raised renewed concerns about public safety in Times Square.
