GAC, Jameel Motors Form UK EV Joint Venture, Launch AION Models by 2026

Jameel Motors has partnered with Chinese automaker GAC to introduce its electric vehicle brand Aion to the UK market, marking GAC’s first entry into UK passenger vehicles. The initial launch will include two all-electric models: the Aion V SUV and the Aion UT hatchback, with deliveries expected by the end of Q1 2026 through selected retail partners. This move builds on Jameel Motors’ existing UK operations distributing the electric commercial vehicle brand Farizon Auto and follows their recent success distributing GAC vehicles in Poland. GAC, a top Chinese automotive manufacturer with a growing international presence across 84 countries, has seen a significant increase in overseas sales, surpassing 100,000 units in 2024. The UK market presents a strategic opportunity, being Europe’s second-largest EV market with supportive government subsidies and a growing demand for cleaner vehicles. Both Jameel Motors and GAC executives emphasized their shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and delivering high-quality products and services to UK consumers.
