Austin Prock Wins NHRA Funny Car Championship

Austin Prock achieved a remarkable milestone by clinching his first NHRA Funny Car world championship during the qualifying rounds of the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals in Pomona. Prock, driving for John Force Racing, not only secured the title but also finished as the No. 1 qualifier with a record-setting run of 3.804 seconds, marking the quickest Funny Car run since 2017. Throughout the season, he has been dominant, winning eight races and achieving a record 15 No. 1 qualifiers, solidifying his status as a standout rookie. Prock's journey to the championship has been 19 years in the making, as he began racing at the age of 10 and has always aspired to be a professional driver. His success comes in a season where his teammate Jack Beckman also performed admirably, qualifying second. Despite interruptions from rain, Prock's lead in points made his championship victory virtually assured before the final qualifying runs.
