Father Sentenced for Manslaughter in Jaylin Schwarz Case

Daniel Schwarz, 49, from Odessa, Texas, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter for the death of his 8-year-old adopted daughter, Jaylin Schwarz. In August 2020, Jaylin was forced by Daniel and his wife, Ashley, to jump on a scorching hot trampoline with a surface temperature of 110 degrees Fahrenheit as punishment. The child was denied food and water during this ordeal, leading to her death by dehydration, which was ruled a homicide. Ashley Schwarz was previously convicted of capital murder and sentenced to three life terms. The punishment came after a custody battle with Jaylin's biological mother. This case highlights the severe neglect and abuse Jaylin suffered at the hands of her adoptive parents.
