The Darkness has announced their eighth studio album, 'Dreams on Toast', set to release on March 28, 2025. The lead single, 'The Longest Kiss', is now available and showcases the band's signature rock sound influenced by '70s icons like Queen and Paul McCartney. Frontman Justin Hawkins described the songwriting process as divine inspiration, resulting in a dozen tracks crafted with creativity and humor. The album follows their 2021 release, 'Motorheart', and will be accompanied by a tour starting in March with additional North American dates to be announced. Hawkins also humorously recounted the inspiration for the single, linking it to a personal experience and an unfinished musical project. The band's classic hit 'I Believe in a Thing Called Love' recently gained renewed attention after a viral moment involving Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce at the US Open.
