Collierville Man Sentenced 10 Years for 2022 Hit-and-Run Death
Seth Garron Rokitka of Collierville, Tennessee, pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident causing death and aggravated DUI related to the 2022 hit-and-run that killed University of Mississippi student Walker Fielder and severely injured another student. Rokitka was sentenced to 10 years in prison for leaving the scene, with an additional five-year sentence for DUI that will be suspended after the initial term, followed by five years of probation. The incident occurred on October 16, 2022, when Rokitka struck Fielder and Blanche Williamson in a parking lot behind Oxford City Hall and fled the scene; Fielder died shortly after at a hospital, while Williamson was critically injured but later stabilized. The Oxford Police Department quickly identified Rokitka through surveillance footage and public tips, leading to his surrender to authorities the following day. During sentencing, family and friends of Fielder described the profound impact of his death, and police expressed gratitude for community support in resolving the case. Rokitka’s passenger, Tristan Holland, was also charged with accessory after the fact in connection with the crash.
