Sevilla thrashed Barcelona 4-1 at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, ending the champions’ unbeaten La Liga start and leaving Barcelona two points behind leaders Real Madrid. Alexis Sánchez converted a VAR-confirmed penalty in the 13th minute after a foul involving Ronald Araújo; Isaac Romero doubled Sevilla’s lead before half-time.
