Vinesh Phogat, a prominent Indian wrestler, was disqualified from the Paris 2024 Olympics for being 100 grams over the weight limit in the women's 50 kg category, a decision that has sparked widespread disappointment among fans and athletes alike. American wrestler Sarah Hildebrandt, who was preparing to face Phogat, was caught off guard by the disqualification and reflected on the confusion it caused during the event. Phogat, after rigorous weight-cutting efforts, filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport, seeking reconsideration of her disqualification. The Wrestling Federation of India has also reached out to United World Wrestling to appeal the decision, highlighting the ongoing support for Phogat during this challenging time.
