Andra Day Cast as Athena in Disney+ Series

Andra Day, the award-winning R&B singer and actress, has been announced as the actress portraying Athena in Season 2 of Disney+’s 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians'. This news was revealed during a virtual panel at D23 Brazil. Athena is the mother of Annabeth Chase, a key character in the series, which is based on Rick Riordan's beloved book series. The second season will adapt 'The Sea of Monsters', following the adventures of demigods Percy and Annabeth as they navigate challenges in their quest. Other cast additions include Daniel Diemer as Tyson, Percy's cyclops half-brother. Day expressed her excitement about bringing Athena to life alongside a talented cast.
