Gonzaga Adds Grand Canyon WAC Player Tyon Grant-Foster Awaiting NCAA Waiver
Tyon Grant-Foster, the 2024 Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year, has committed to Gonzaga for the 2025-26 college basketball season, pending NCAA approval for an additional year of eligibility. The 6-foot-7, 220-pound wing, who led Grand Canyon to consecutive WAC Tournament championships and NCAA Tournament appearances, is valued for his scoring ability and defensive prowess despite a dip in production last season due to injury. Grant-Foster's college career has been marked by resilience, overcoming a heart condition that sidelined him for much of his time at DePaul, and he has played for five different teams including Indian Hills Community College, Kansas, and Grand Canyon. Gonzaga coach Mark Few praised Grant-Foster as a pure scorer and noted his potential to improve further under his guidance. The commitment adds a veteran offensive weapon to Gonzaga's roster, joining fellow transfer Adam Miller, as the team fills out its scholarship spots. Grant-Foster's acquisition represents a significant boost for Gonzaga's wing position and continues the program's trend of developing NBA-level talent.
